Cheeks & Tear Troughs by Dr Ruth Brady
Young cheeks are usually rounded, pert and resemble small apples. They reflect the light upwards to give a youthful look. With age, the cheeks lose volume, slump, and change shape, as do the lower eyelids, which develop shadows (tear troughs) and sometimes excess skin (eye bags). The cheeks and lower eye lids are assessed together. If a non-surgical approach is appropriate, the contour of the cheeks can be restored to a more youthful appearance and the under-eye shadowing can be reduced using appropriate dermal fillers.
